The Biomedical Science, BSc (Hons) programme provides students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to understand human health, disease, and modern medical diagnostics. It prepares graduates for careers in healthcare laboratories, biomedical research, pharmaceuticals, and the life sciences sector.
Students study core subjects including human anatomy and physiology, cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, genetics, and pathology. The course also covers clinical laboratory techniques, disease mechanisms, medical diagnostics, and laboratory data analysis, reflecting current healthcare industry standards.
Practical laboratory training is a key part of the programme. Students gain hands-on experience using modern laboratory equipment while developing skills in sample analysis, scientific investigation, and data interpretation. They also build critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and scientific reporting skills.
Supported by experienced academics and modern laboratory facilities, graduates are well prepared for careers in clinical laboratories, biomedical research, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organisations, or postgraduate study in biomedical and related life science disciplines.
