Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • Professional Registration or Experience: Be registered with a recognised public health body (e.g. the UK Public Health Register) or an internationally recognised equivalent, or hold a relevant degree together with substantial experience in a public health-related role.
  • Academic Qualification: Hold an Honours degree with a minimum classification of 2:2 or provide evidence of successful Level 7 study.
  • English Language: If English is not your first language, or you have not completed your highest qualification in English, you must achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.
  • Research Proposal: Submit a research proposal of approximately 500–600 words outlining your research interests, proposed MRes topic, rationale for the chosen topic, proposed research methods, and relevant supporting literature or references.

Sri Lanka

Nepal

  • Degree from TU, Kathmandu University, Nepal University or other ECCTIS-recognised institutions: 55%

Document Requirements

  • Completed Application Form: Submit a fully completed application with accurate personal and academic information.
  • Passport: A valid passport meeting the destination country's validity requirements.
  • Degree Certificate & Academic Transcripts: Official undergraduate degree certificate and transcripts. Additional postgraduate qualifications may also be submitted if applicable.
  • English Language Certificate: IELTS, PTE Academic, or another recognised English language qualification, where required.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): An up-to-date CV detailing your academic background, employment history, research, and relevant skills.
  • Personal Statement: A statement explaining your academic background, research interests, career goals, and reasons for choosing the programme.
  • Academic or Professional Reference: At least one reference from an academic tutor or a suitable professional referee.
  • Work Experience Evidence: Required only for programmes where relevant professional experience forms part of the entry requirements.
  • Research Proposal: Required for research-based programmes (e.g. MRes, MPhil or PhD) or where specified by the course.
  • Portfolio: Required only for selected Art, Design, Architecture, or other creative programmes.
  • Financial Documents: Proof of funds may be required during the CAS and Student visa application process.

Scholarships

Self-funded international students may be eligible for a Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship worth £2,000 towards their tuition fees.

Students who choose to pay their full tuition fee in a single payment may also qualify for an additional £1,000 Full Fee Payment Discount.
